Hi. I am considering getting one of those steel carports that I've seen on the web (like T-N-T or American Steel). To cover my boat for the winter. I don't know if I trust the salespeople regarding the snow loads. I am looking at a 12 or 14 ga frame every 5', and 29 ga roof. It will be 16' wide and 24' long. I live in a 35 psf snow load area in upstate NY. They all seem to say "no problem", but no guarantee (only on rust-thru). Also, they have horizontal ribs on the roof. Any thoughts or experiences? Is 5' between rafters too much and will the sheet metal collapse? Is 16' too wide a span?
Thanks for any advice.

most are very lightweight, i wouldn't trust them to that kind of snow load. but hey the advice is worth the price.
