My alarm goes off when my siren is plugged in. I have an Ademco 20p. The wiring is correct. Ground to ground, and positive to positive. When I set the alarm with the siren plugged in, the alarm goes off within 10 seconds of being armed. But with the siren's positive wire unplugged, I can set the alarm and leave for hours, and when I come back, the alarm is still set without going off. Is this my board or siren?

Is the siren sounding continuously, or is it just a few seconds?
There is a setting that people often set thinking that it turns on the keypad countdown sounder that makes the siren sound on arming (*38 confirmation of arming ding).
The odds are against either the siren or the board being bad.

I second the "confirmation of arming ding". They should call it confirmation of arming siren blast!
