Can someone help me tell the difference between Cast aluminum and Stainless Steel? I know they're both non-magnetic but other than that I'm clueless. I want to take them to the scrap yard for cash but don't want to get ripped off. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you.

use a knife to scratch the aluminum, it will scratch relativly easily, the stainless will not, by the way some ss has enough ferrous iron that a magnet will stick. cast is usually worth more

Thanks for the feedback, Speed! That sounds reasonable enough to me. I knew that some of the Stainless could be magnetic so I'm gonna have to be trustful I guess. They're usually pretty good at the recylcer. Also, I enjoyed your last line. Again, I appreciate your comeback Speedwrench.
