I have cotton fabric on our couch and loveseat and we smoke in that room.I would like to know how to remove the yellow color from the fabric. The covers do come off.

you may want to seek out a professional uph cleaner...this is going to require a solvent and extraction

If you have slipcovers and they're washable, you can just throw them in the washer and let them soak first. I used to smoke and washing was the most effective way to clean fabric. However, if it's been a long time, the yellow may have set and also, if the covers are dry clean only, it may not come out at all, in which case you may need new covers. This has been my experience.

I like Biz along with detergent. I think it works better than the oxi stuff. and wash it in hot water, if you haven't already.

It is doubtful that you can restore upholstery fabric to original color, despite oxygenating bleaches or other products. Gas heat, nictotine, and sunlight (bakes in stains), and can cause permanenent discoloration. Upholsterers tend not to recommend removal of cushion covers for washing and drying because of permanent shrinkage.
