We have a glass block shower wall and the grout is different than the tile grout - possibly concrete??? After 9 years it is showing some staining. I would like to redo it as a surprise for my husband-a great handyman with too many projects of his own. Can this be a diy project or should I hire a professional?
I have also familiarized myself with grout repair but am curious if the corners of a tiled shower (where the walls meet) is grout or caulk. I would like to do that as well.

Hi JoAnn,
when you say you want to "redo it" are you talking about making it clean and new again or changing the color ?
the mortar used in the glass block is actually white glass block mortar.
depending on how full the joints are you could fill them by going over it with more glass block mortar.
BUT, I do recommend you trying to clean up the dirty joints with a cement type cleaner.
