I am wanting to install a door across the hallway of a trailer to effectively shut off that area for privacy. I have the spot figured out which of course is on the existing studs. I am simply looking to see if anyone else has ever tried this or if anyone has any ideas that I might have not thought of.:wall:

Before you continue, consider where your thermostat is located and how it will affect the rooms beyond the door you want to install. How wide is the hallway? If less than 36", you won't be able to do it and still get your furniture past it in the event you change out large pieces or move. If you still want to do this, consider the largest door you can get in the hallway subtracting the 3" necessary for the jack studs and header, and what is left less 2 inches will be the size of door you can have (2" being the size of the frame and shims)
