Hello aaron12. Welcome to the Gas Appliances topic and the Do-It-Yourself Web Site.

Unfortunately, do to the lack of specific and detailed information you provided and my own time constraints, looking up the information based only upon the model number and brand name, I am at a slight loss to provide you with one or more possible causes.

Kindly provide the type of ignition system used to light the oven. A constant burning pilot flame, a spark igniter the lights a pilot flame which in turn heats and element or an HSI. (Hot Surface [Glow] Igniter)

Also clarify if you mean the pilot lights up with the thermostat in the OFF position and/or the HSI glows when oven turned off and the burner lights also....

Retail appliance parts dealers can also help determine what the possible problem may be also. They will need the make, model an serial numbers. Appliance parts dealers are an excellent source for original replacement parts. Dealers are listed in the phone book under appliances.

It is a glow rod ignition, no pilot. When the oven is turned off it occasionally ignites and burns for a few minutes and then shuts off.

Hello: Aaron

Most common problem is one of the settings is incorrectly set. Meaning the control panel may have a "Keep Warm" setting. Oven may constantly and/or occasionally cycle (turn) on then off. Possible on some models which have a keep warm optional selection.

Check the appliances control panel. Be sure all selections and or option functions and/or settings are set to off or set correctly. No use suspecting and/or replacing parts, if none are defective.

Another possible cause is a short in the controls panel touch pad, a button or switch, if applicable to that model and/or the circuit board. Some thing is causing the igniter to obtain electrical current when the oven is in the off position.

If you're handy with small tools and have an OHM meter, you can do a continuity test on the above mentioned parts. Be sure the electrical power to the appliance is turned OFF first.

All switches and or controls should be opened when not in the selected position. No current going to the HSI which means zero continuity on the meter. Same applies to all other parts.

As mentioned before, retail appliance parts dealers can also help determine what the possible problem may be also. They will need the make, model an serial numbers. Appliance parts dealers are an excellent source for original replacement parts. Dealers are listed in the phone book under appliances.

Most retail appliances parts stores have service techs whom work on appliances at customers homes. Therefore, counter personnel often know what causes such problems in which models and or brands.

Ask. Likely to obtain an answer and a solution. If so, buy the part(s) they recommend and install per the instructions. Then use reply button again and update your post here. Others reading this thread will then learn too....
