I don't think there is oil getting to the chain on my chainsaw. How can I fix this problem?

Brand and model of chain saw please. It's the only way anyone is going to be able to try and help you figure out your issue.

Were all anxious to try and help, but were not able to without enough information.

Most likely it's the oil pump on your saw causing the problem. They have a plastic screw drive piston assembly and they are prone to stripping. The pump is not an expensive part I think around $15.00, they are easy to replace, but you do have to remove the clutch to gain access to the pump as it's underneath the chain sprocket.
