I purchased a dining table yesterday, circa 1920's. The shop has had the table for 2 years with no bites. The legs are very large and ornate and have been painted with primer. The owner was going to paint the table and see if she could get it sold that way.

So.......how do I remove the primer? Is there a way to do it without using a stripper? I was going to try soap, water and a stiff brush. Don't want to ruin the legs.

I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

Welcome to the forums!
Unless you can sand and scrape it off, I don't think you can get by without using a stripper.
