hi guys, i'm purchasing my 1st new home and i'm thinking about building a bar in the kitchen area. the place is fairly small so i would like a simple small/narrow bar running across the center of the kitchen. no sink or anything just more of a bar height table w/ glass/see through cabinets at the bottom for some fancy looking bottles. any tips on where/how to get started? and what's the thing called that's above the bar where you can hang glasswares and such? does that have to be attached to the ceiling or the bar itself? thanks.

I'm guessing you are talking about wine glasss holders like these at Rockler:

They also carry wood molding that can be used for the same thing:

Both have to be attached to a framework of some kind, either under a cabinet or hanging from above.

Rockler also has a variety of other bar hardware:

Stop by several of your local kitchen/bath cabinetry dealers with measurements to acquire cabinetry quotes for your bar. They can show you end results on the computer, provide quotes for cabinetry, as well as different options and quotes for counter. Door options are available, including many options in glass. The 'bar glass rack' is offered by most major cabinet manufacturers.
