Hi!

My husband and I are building 2nd bathroom in our unfinished basement. Got a question regarding "how to insulate basement wall"!

Since our basement is half-lit, bottom half is concrete where we have installed the form board (pink).

Now we are wondering if top half of wall, which is wood, should be insulated with same kind of form board, or fiberglass batt???

We kind of remember hearing the fiberglass batt can be hold moisture over time and get moldy?? Any advices or information will be appreciated!

Thank you!!

continue with the pink board -- NOT fiberglass batt. You are correct on the moisture issue. I'm not am expert but would also recommend using green board instead of regular sheetrock to cover.

Hi g-pettit,

Thanks for your quick response! Sorry for getting back to you so late.

We will definitely use pink form board for the wood wall, too!! Glad we did buy extra. :)

thanks again!!
