I left my curiling iron on while it was on the bathroom counter- top. Anyone know how to remove this brown stain without ruining the counter top

you may want to try a solvent first..but you may of damaged the glazing in the tiles...if you have any spare tiles you can try patching..but may not be a uniform look

or try to remove different tiles to create a pattern then replace the damaged ones

I am sure that the savvy late-night ad watchers would recommend the Magic Eraser. Never saw one or used one, but it just might work based on all the testimonials.

If I had a burn stain on porcelain, I'd break out the BarKeepers Friend or Zud and make a paste of water and powdered cleanser, let set, and then use elbow grease to rub off the stain. If it lightened, I would repeat

Question? You state that the counter is porcelain? Wonder if it is not a cultured marble or other synthetic product and the heat melted through the glaze? You can try the same cleaning methods. If you can remove the burn mark and apply auto wax, you may restore the shine.

I've never been happy with the magic eraser, they just seem to come apart on me. I would have tried BonAmi, which is basically what twelvepole recommended.
