I am unclear, you have a pool cage that squirrels are ripping up?
if so you should be able to pick up some hardware cloth in 1/4 in. mesh and use it over the screening to keep them out. Otherwise just trap them and either pop them with a pellet gun or move them at least 12 mi. to keep them from coming back.
life begins when the kids leave home and the dog dies.

Hardware cloth is more animal proof than standard screen wire. Protect your property from invasion by squirrels. Trapping is the most effective control for squirrells. Contact local authorities re: relocation.
Seal all potential entries into the structure. Screen chimney and all possible entries, including soffit & fascia & gutter. Install chimney cap and guard. Install gutter guards and trim overhanging branches to within 10-15' of roof. Eliminate bird feeders or move to perimeter of property. Remove food, shelter, and access. Do not leave out pet food and water dishes. Contact your local wildlife control agency for additional info and control measures.

Hi Guys: thanks for the info about hardware cloth but I dont think you understand the pool cage if 48ft long and 24 ft wide it would look awful Thanks Jim

the only other options would be either electric fence or trapping then. I just pop them and put them in the pot at my house.
if we're not supposed to eat animals why are they made out of meat?

Speedwrench: I agree but being 80yrs old I am afraid I would put more holes in the screen than the squirrels do Thanks Jim

Jim, I would think Speedwrench's idea of electrifying the pool cover would be a great option if you can't trap them. One other possibility could be to feed them. We set out food for the squirrels and the birds and they now leave our garden and chair pads alone.
