A few weeks ago my wife tossed a stainless steel butter knife into the sink while the garbage disposal was running. The handle went into the disposal and the blades chewed it up.

Can the knife be repaired/refinished or should I just toss it?

Thanks.

If it has only minor damage, it may be possible to rework it and buff it out.

Unless it has sentimental value, the time and cost of repairs may exceed it's (and possibly a new set of flatware's) value.

Toss it..the amount of time to refinish it would take longer to just replace

The gouges went all the way through the finish and into the metal. It's got rust on it, so it's history. Thanks for the advice.
