I have been searching all over for help. Hopefully somebody here can help?!?!
I have a Toshiba 42in TV. Its an older model and I know it has a problem with powering off. I need to hit the power button 6-9 times quickly before the TV will turn off. It will turn on with 1 click of the power button.
That is not the main problem because I can deal with that.
I moved into an apartment and after a couple weeks noticed that when I used the microwave the lights in the apartment would dim quickly (a flash of dim but never completely out) and the TV would power cycle itself. This happened every time I used the microwave.
I dealt with that hassle because the only time I used the microwave was during a commercial. No big deal. :D
I recently moved into a bigger/better apartment down the hall. The lights are constantly dimming and the TV is power cycling itself all the time. If I turn off all the lights and unplug the air conditioner the problem usually stops (until the guy downstairs comes home and uses his lights/TV/and so on).
Nothing else has ever turned off or cycled itself besides the TV.
All this leads to a simple (I hope) question... Is there some sort of product that will allow the TV to have continuous power even during these 'breaks'?

I would be more worried about living in a building where the power is dropping so badly. You might ask one of the electricians what they make of this.
The tv is doing what it normally does when it runs into a low ac voltage source. When the ac in the building is fixed you should not have the power cycling problem anymore.
