Entertainment Center: TVs, Stereos, VCRs and DVDs - Toshiba 50A60 with sound but NO picture

I have an Toshiba 50A60 projection TV that doesn't have any picture, the sound works very well. I would like to see if I can replace a component to revive the tv. Does anyone know what part I would need to replace...could it be the "Digital convergence board" that one repair place told me about? If I replace the board, is there any special tools or knowlegde I need to have in order to get the set up and running again?

The convergence board will generally just give you a bad picture not a total no picture situation.
From the diagrams it looks like the two speaker grills and the panel in front should just pop off and expose the crts.Look near the bottom of the crts to see if you can see a glow coming from them.May have to turn lights off in room to see it.If you can see a glow then the high voltage transformer is working.If no glow then there is no high voltage for the crts to function.
Let me know what you find and that will tell us where to start looking.;)
