Hi
I hope someone can help explain why this happened:
8 hours ago I painted an interior door with white gloss paint & it has now become streaky pink!
Previously the door had been painted with a white satin paint. It is a new tin of paint which I also used on some other wooden areas but they appear to be fine (fingers crossed).
Any ideas as to why this has happened, and what I should do next?
Thanks
:)

Often times, the stain they used on doors, trim, etc might bleed through the paint. Did you use a primer first, like Zinnzer?

That would have been my first question. ALWAYS, prime/seal new unpainted wood first. Something is bleeding thru.

I agree, a solvent based primer should have been used first!
I reread your post, was this door previously painted with a satin enamel or was it stained? Are you using oil base enamel? latex? or waterborne?
There has to be some type of contamination bleeding thru the paint. Were there any stains on the door?
