Hey, I want to repair my patio steps. Pavers bricks were installed over steps and mortored at the joints and is coming loose. However, the pavers were installed over sand. Thats right. Sand was placed over the concrete then the pavers were placed. I want to repair but want to leave the sand. What adhesive should I use. Will it adhere to sand?

cholliboy,

Welcome to the forums.

Sweep the sand off and adhere the pavers DIRECTLY to the steps. With the sand in place, the adhesive is only going to stick to the very top of the sand -- not to anything solid. What would be the point of the adhesive??

sand is the right thing to use when building a walk with pavers but not over steps. use a very dry mix of concrete. to lesson the shrinkage. it should just barely be workable.
