Flooring Tile - Need some inputs for tiling on hardwood floors

I'm planning to replace vinyl with ceramic tiles for my bathroom. But one thing that my house was built with solid hardwood floor and the bottom of the door to the floor surface isn't quite a bit gap. Once we pu the 1/2'' plywood and 1/4 cement backerboard and ceramic tiles, then it will higher than the door.

Does anyone have different ideas how to fix this problem or just don't install tile ? :o

Is the subfloor hardwood boards, or do you have hardwood over a plywood subfloor?

You can cut the door down so that shouldnt be a obstacle.:)

Yeah I know, it was either that or remove the door and replace it with an old shower curtain.:D

There is a simple ( did not say cheaper) for situation like this, offcurse if cutting the door bottom solve the highest issue then this is the best option.
But if not there is a board about ¼” high and it has a channels to fill in cement. Once it dry you can lay the tile, ( it is also made strong enough to use with out any subfloor )

This magic board got a name, yes?:D How thick does this "cement" have to be?
