Two fuses on my alarm panel went out: 1) the fuse for the battery back up, and 2) the fuse for the "bell." (As best I can tell, the fuses are 5A 125V 5x15mm.) Radio Shack doesn't carry replacements and the only fuses I could find on the Internet that meet the description are "time delay." I ordered them from Newark.com and now have them installed. However, I have read that "time delay" fuses are for motors, not circuits.
Two questions: How much damage will the "time delay" fuses do to my system? And does anyone know a good source for fuses for DSC PC 1500 systems?
Thanks.

It won't do any damage, it will just react more slowly to an overload.
Get a normal fast acting one when you can. They are a pain to find.

Hi -
My Mother's alarm went off one night and the trouble light said "open fuse either AUX or bell'.
I'm pretty sure the "AUX" fuse did blow out.
Just wondering if your Alarm went off when your fuse blew out?
thanks,
EJ

it could have blown the fuse if the siren/s is/are drawing too much
one of the siren/s may be bad- if there is an outdoor one that is not in a box, it could be the one.
