I have a vinyl wallpaper that is 53' wide.
I would like to know if I need to cut 1 1/2" in each side to be able to match the pattern? I have read that you have to lapped and split, but I do not know how to do it and follow the pattern.
Also, if I star in a corner, should I keep going till I finish at that corner?
Thanks

53 feet wide? WOW! just kidding.....you meant 53 inches, right? sounds like commercial wallcovering. ever hung paper before? if not, don't learn with this stuff. you're probably going to need some heavy duty commercial grade adhesive, maybe even clay based. you should be able to tell if the edges need trimming or not by looking at the pattern. if they do, "lapped & split" means to do a double cut. you overlap the edges, cut thru both thicknesses at a point where they overlap, peel off the top strip and also the loose strip underneath, which leaves a perfectly butted seam.

not sure about your last question.........if you start in a corner, and work your way around the room, you WILL end up back in that same corner. there's no other option. unless you live in some other parallel of the universe with no corners that continues endlessly into infinity and beyond.........;)
