Hey, I recently purchased a Steinel LCD hot air plastic welder, and I've seen some pretty crazy videos of plastic being welded in a field on top of dirt with those automated welders... I was wondering if it was alright if I welded my plastic on my living room floor, as I'm using large approximately 10 foot long sheets of plastic, and this is about the largest working space I have. The plastic in use is polyethylene, and I've heard 500 degrees fahrenheight and 8 psi is good.

Thanks

Remember that PE can produce toxic fumes when welded. I never work with PE in a closed area. Even small quantities of the fumes can be irritating.

I don't know about plastic welding as such, but I presume its some sort of hot air? Don't be surprised if you have discolored stripes on your floor after you finish. Unless it's concrete.. or maybe some sort of ceramic.

500 degree air will do nasty things to wood or carpet.

Just something to consider along with the fumes...
