I have a large wall with three windows, each measuring 39" (wide) by 78" (height) with 35" of space between them. I would like to hang drapery panels, however I am unsure of how to do the rods. I thought about doing rods which span the space only and half rods on the left and right of the outside windows... the other option is three separate rods, one above each window or a very, very long rod over 185" of space. The ceilings are 9' and I would hang the rod(s) 6" from the ceiling and the drapes will fall 1/2" from the floor. The total drape panels would be six, wall showing between the first and second and second and third window...I worry about a "stripey" look. Any suggestions for rod use would be appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the forum! I would put a rod over each window and leave the spaces free. I think one long rod would look odd unless you were planning on hanging a wall of panels.
If the spaces were smaller and the panels completely covered them, then a rod over the space would work, but I think having the rod show on the spaces and not the window would look odd also.
It's always a good idea to draw something out when you're not sure how it'll look. You can either sketch your windows on graph paper or take a couple of pics and print it up on graph paper and draw the different ideas you have, then you can see exactly how it'll look beforehand.

If it were my window

I would use 3 seperate traverse rods above each window, with the rods butting up to each other in the spaces between the windows.. And I would have the rods exted 17'' past the left and right window.

I would then have 2 drapes made at 37'' face width + returns (flap that goes to the wall at the ends)

Then have 2 panels that are made at a 54'' face width.. These panels will be used to fill in the space between the windows and to cover the entire middle window when closed.. The will also treat the right half of the left windows and the left half of the right window.

The 37" panels will be used to treat the left half of the left window, and right half of the right window.. And the extra width in the drape will allow you to exten past the windows so they dont so strange next to your big center panels..

Then i would cover it all with a 192'' wide valance
