Can anybody offer some kind of information/help.

i want a guitar body with a cracked mirror on the front,

i have tried using a heat gun on plain glass,
hoping that it would crack without leaving a rough sharp edge,
or have any shards missing between the cracks,
it did work but left rough edges,

would this effect the stuff used to make the reflective surface.?

or would drawing a full scale picture ,glass cutter and wet/dry sandpaper be the easier way,

if i am left with some rough surface cracks, how could i remove them.?
