I'm thinking of planting an orange tree, in the ground, adjacent to a fence, with a brick retaining wall approximately 45cm high.

Is it likely that the orange tree roots will cause damage to the retaining wall?

A swimming pool is approxiametly 2 metres from planting spot.

If in doubt, forget planting a tree next to a retaining wall and a pool. There are many varieties of orange trees that grow to different heights, widths, and have different size root systems. If I am not mistaken, orange trees attract bees, which is not a good thing near a pool.
