I am considering installing a laminate flooring to my living room and hall. The bedrooms are carpeted and the bathrooms and kitchen are tiled. My husband thinks this will be too many types of flooring in our small 1500 sq. ft. home. What do you think? I am not sure I would want the laminate in the bedrooms. Carpet just seems cozier. Would it be better to leave the carpet in the hall, to ease the transition? Another option I have considered is to put the laminate in the living room, hall and master. Then, leave the office and guest room carpeted? Anyone have an opinion?

You have about the same size home as I do, and I have carpeted bedrooms, tiled kitchen, bath, entryway, and laminate in the living room, dining room, and hallways. It looks fine. Go with what you want.
