whirlpool. no water is connected to it. last night i came in from having a few beers in the garage, about 1am. i noticed the fridge making noises. sounds likewater it is flowing into a container = 1 sec flow, pause, etc. it went on for a short while, long enough that i was watching for it to overflow. it was humid yesterday.
is this some kind of defrost ? tia

Sounds like it was into the defrost cycle. They do that every day, or every few days, depending on what kind of defrost device you have. If it keeps cold, and the pan doesn't overflow all is good.
