My 1993 Yamaha Big Bear 350 will start and run great. Then the next start the green light comes on and the red alt light comes on when you push the start button, but no start. There seems to be no electricity going to the starter. The next time I try it it will start. Any ideas on what to look for?

Try tapping the starter. It could have worn or sticking brushes.
It that doesn't do anything get a check current test light and see if you have current at the start with key in start position - then at and past the starter solenoid.

I've seen plenty of them seem to have plenty of power until you hit the starter and because of dirty or loose battery terminals or other connection, don't have enough power to kick the solenoid in or dirty connections on the solenoid. If all connections are good and clean, and when you push the start button you hear the solenoid clicking, and it doesn't turn over, then start looking at the starter. All I ever see wrong with starter motors is dirty and need brushes replaced. Get a test light and the next time it acts up, see where the voltage stops, start at the battery and work towards the starter. You may also want to check the safety lock out switches. If you got it used someone may have bypassed one and the wires they twisted together are loose or aren't getting a good connection. Hope This helps. Steven
