I have a Kenmore stove.

It's the ceran top kind of stove. It has a dual burner where if you turn the knob one way it heats the 6" burner and turning it the other way heats the 9" burner.
This burner stopped working correctly. The 6" burner would not heat by itself. Turning the knob either way resulted in the entire 9" area heating up.
Now, if I turn that burner on it is VERY difficult to get it to turn off. Turning the knob to off won't shut it off. I have to turn it back and forth and play with it to get it to shut off.
If this is a switch problem is replacing it something I can do myself? I've done similar electrical stuff before like switching light fixtures, putting up ceiling fans, replacing the cycle selector switch on a washer, etc.
The stove isn't under warranty anymore so I don't have to worry about voiding that. Oh, also, the cooktop "on" light stays on on that side of the stove, even though the entire cooktop is off and cool.
Is the burner switch difficult to replace, or expensive to buy?
