I want to paint this sideboard a shade of white but don't want the detailed area to look too "painted". I know that I can sand and use steel wool for the core of the sideboard. How should I approach the detail work? After I have painted it should I run some stain over it to "antique" it? Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. Are you going to use a brush or a small roller and enamel paint?

I was going to use a brush on the detail and on the legs. I was going to use a roller or pad for the flat surfaces. I hadn't thought about paint. Any recommendations? Thanks.
