Decks, Patios, Porches and Docks - Can I "glue" pressure treated deck boards?

As I asked about in another thread I plan to use hidden fastener system. There will be a few places too tight or impossible to use the hidden fastener due to the decking pattern Id like to use.

Is it reasonable to glue down pressure treated deck boards in a few spots or will this not last?

Interesting question. With the expansion and contraction of the deck boards I rather suspect gluing would not be advisable.

What say you pro carpenters? :coffee:

Gluing would not be sufficient for me. What about "toenailing" with screws from the underside? Do you have access to the underside?

I do have access to the underside, but toenailing wouldnt really work due to the extra joists I have in this spot. Id only be able to secure one side of the length of the board.

Try the glue. What's the worst that can happen - it doesn't work and you have to drive a couple screws?

Have you thought about drilling and coutersinking, then installing a glued plug in the hole? You could do that all around and it would be symmetrical.
