Hi there,

This may sound too simple, but have you tried the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser?

Those things get EVERYTHING off and although I haven't tried it on hair color, I'd bet it'll work. I've been amazed at what it takes off.

Hope this helps,

Nikki

Hair color is tough. I think you're going to end up having to cover it with a sealing primer and painting.

Thanks, Mr Clean worked partially. There is still some on there, but at least it is less noticeable.

Latex paint does not respond well to cleaning. It is porous and absorbent. Hair dye is one of the most difficult stains to remove. Few have success. Removal from latex paint poses the challenge of doing so without damage to paint. At best, one can expect to lighten the hair dye stain. Before repainting, do not forget to prime/seal to prevent bleed through of the dye stain.

Hi,

I have been reading some of the posts on your web site & see you say that Mr. Clean Magic Eraser can be used to removed hair dye. Now what I need to find out is if it can be used on Wood & on a wall that has oil paint on it ? Will this not damage the wood surface or remove the paint from the wall ? And also can I get this Magic Eraser at a local store ? We are in South Africa.

Many Thanks

The Magic Eraser works on just about any surface. I use it on painted walls, wood surfaces, and even on the tile around the water line in our pool. If you can't find it locally it's available on-line from several sites.
