Hello everyone,
Thanks to GEGUY, I've been able to get my home alarm rewired and working as we need. He's been great.
I wanted to ask everyone about the X-10 transformer for this system. I've used X10 before, but usually with the transformer that looks like a clock radio with a seven segment time display on it. You set the current time, start time and end time for the items you want to work and off you go.
I'd like to use the alarm system to control all this and I have my X10 light switches still. What I need to know is:
1. Will my push button light switch work with the alarm? It has a black dial with numbers around it and a red dial with letters around it. That allows me to tell it which unit it is and which zone it is in.
2. Is anyone using the plug in transformer by GE with the X10 transformer built in?
I have found that transformer at many different stores from as little as $18 to $68. It is GE Part number GE-600-1024 and most of them list it as an X10 powerline transformer. However, the least expensive place lists it as GE 600-1024 CLASS 2 TRANSFORMER, 16.5V, 40VA, W/POWER LINE CARRIER. I'm not sure if that's the same thing even though its the same part number. And they don't show a picture of it.
The picture I've seen on some other sites is a white transformer.
If someone could let me know about your experience with this, I would appreciate it. How do you tell it which device number (black dial) and zone (red dial) you want to control from the programing of the security system menu?
Thanks,
John

Yes, any X-10 device should work with the panel, I've used stuff that's at least 20 years old with it, and many brands.
I'm using that transformer (in white), works fine for my Concord 4 panel. That's the correct part number.
On the lightning control menu of the Concord panel, you pick the partition, normally 1 for home systems. Then you pick the house code, 1 = A, 2 = B, etc. The unit number is determined by your specific keypad entry, noting that you can only control units from 1 through 9 from the keypad. You can program lights on a schedule, or have them controlled when an individual sensor is tripped. That's all in the User's guide, starts on page 23 in mine.
