I am considering installing a duct free system in my family room. It's 470 SF with a vaulted ceiling varying from 9' to 16' in height.
I estimated I need 20000 btu and that is conservative.
I am unsure what system to get, there does not seem to be much information out there in terms or reviews or comparisons between the different brands and models - LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Mr. Slim, Quietside...Samsung takes about having an "inverter", is that a good feature?
One other question I have is does it matter where I mount this unit? I assume it is as high as possible and be as much in the middle as possible? However I have a tie beam at that height so it seems the convenient location is at the corner where it is closest to the electrical panels and away from a window.
However the room is 32' long, does having one of these units in the corner affect the efficiency in cooling such a large room? Should I try everything possible to mount it in the middle of the room or does it not matter?
Thanks!
