Hi,
I need advice on the best way to get a yellow jacket nest out of my crawl space. They seem to be getting in and out from those air vents(that have meshes on them but with holes wide enough to let these pesks in)
I am not sure how far from the vent the nest is .I would like to know the best way possible to get rid of these without getting stung.
Thanks.,

If you are sure it's yellow jackets, take a chill pill. These guys are usually gone at the end of the season. Nests are abandoned and tend to decompose over winter. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellowjacket
After the weather turns cold and the pests are gone, you can remove the nest. You can take some squares of plastic screen mesh and silicone caulk and provide a finer mesh covering to overlay your foundation vents to prevent future invasions.
While in the crawl space, inspect for mud tubes for termites. Moisture issues. Make sure the area is dry and well ventilated. Soil should be covered with 8 mil minimum polyetheylene, overlapped and taped and run up sides of foundation and attached with silicone caulk. There should be no moisture issues, pests, insects, etc. If it is not your cup of tea to inspect the crawlspace area, call a reputable, professional exterminator.
