Hi All,

I currently have my 8 year old Whirlpool electric dryer pulled apart to replace a broken belt.

I did a major clean up of all parts and I'm now wondering if lubrication of the drum roller pins and the motor bearings is required or even advisable? If needed, what type of lube should I use?

Thanks.

Only motor bearings, if you can get to them. Some light weight oil, auto transmission oil is good stuff, slowly around shaft, wipe of excess. May not help, but for sure won't hurt.

If your dryer has drum rollers light oil on them if rides on felt seals and has a slide type idler pulley I would replace pulley with a roller pulley. It comes standard with replacement of idler.
