Hello,

Can I put two wired keypads on a Concord 4 panel? I just bought a second one because the first didn't have full programming capability. I'm thinking it might be nice to just add the second in a different location and leave the original operating.

If I do end up replacing the original keypad, how do I delete its bus number since it is now learned into the system? I haven't found any reference in the manual to this and last time I erased the entire set up and started from scratch. I don't want to do that again!

Thank you!

Michael

Sure. This system supports up to about 8 keypads (maybe more...).

Just run another 4-conductor cable to your panel location and connect it the same way as the other keypad. Power down before you make your connections, and when you power back up, it should pick up the new keypad.

16 keypads actually..

If you unhook the original keypad, chances are you will get a "BUS FAILURE" (depends on when the original was taken off vs when the new one was added).

To delete it, you need to go into programming under ACCESSORY MODULES, then BUS DEVICES and delete the BUS number (0-15) that it was learned in as. The system will tell you when you hit the * key what BUS module is in failure, as in "BUS FAILURE UNIT #"....
