Hello all,
We have been living in a great house for a little over 2 years, the previous owner had a culligan system and took it with him when he left.
So for the last 2 years, my wife and I have been working hard to keep the showers clean and now we are ready for a softener.
Based on our consumption we are looking for a 48,000 grain softener (demand controlled).
I will probably install it myself.
I have narrowed it down to two models that seem to be popular:
Fleck 5600SE:

Or Clack WS-1 system:

They seem near identical to me (Clack is slightly more expensive). I would appreciate your opinion on which system I should purchase (I saved money for over a year, so I hope to buy the right one).
Additional options that are sometimes offered are:
- mediaguard KDF filters
- SST-60 resin (claims 50% salt need reduction)
I have no clue whether these options are worth it.
Please identify if you are a vendor/installer, I appreciate your opinion but I would appreciate to know. I would however, appreciate experiences with different online stores as well.
Thank you so much!
