I have a Frigidaire Gallery Dryer (GLER341AST) and it is just over 2 years old. This past week it stopped working. It makes a humming noise like it does before it turns on, but won't actually come on. I called a appliance person and they said test the voltage so I went out and bought a multimeter. After doing some research :coffee: I have found how to test regular electrical outlet, but I have a 4 prong outlet....Which prongs do I place the jacks in to test? or better yet, should I even be doing this test? Anyone have any ideas? Please help, I am running out of clean clothes!!!:wall:

Since you have multi meter here is what the voltages should be. 2 flat prongs 240. Each flat prong to either square or round 120, Square to round 0 volts, BR careful DO NOT TOUCH AND OF THE PRONGS WITH HAND But I think you have something stuck in blower or the motor is going bad. Try to tune drum by hand if it turns with a little drag Blower should OK. Next try to turn drun holing in door button while somebody pushes start button. If dryer starts you have a bad motor. I think your dryer turns clock wise but try it both ways.
voltages could be 240==== 220
120====110 either is Good

I thinks Pugs is right, most dryers turn CW. You may want to unplug that dryer, and take it apart. Two years you should not be having motor problems. Check to see if a sock or piece of clothing has gotten into the blower assembly, drum roller might have gone bad. Give us more info if you tear it apart.
