Just a couple of things about ADT reprogramming under contract:
1) Do they care if you add or change the programming under contract with them?
2) If you don't want to get locked out if they change the installer code remotely, can you change the installer code your self and lock them out? ( not talking about *99 )
3) Any insight on the legal issues of this?
Thanks
Mike

That one's going to be between you and a local lawyer (or at least a law clerk or law school student).
Exactly what is spelled out in an ADT monitoring/purchase/service contract is going to vary state by state (sometimes even specific municipalities).

To be honest, they won't know that you have changed any programming. The only time that they might reverse the programming via download would be if it were causing false alarm issues. If you are wanting to add additional devices to the system, they will not have zone discriptions, but atleast with CID, they will know the zone type.
As far as the installer code, changing it will not prevent them from downloading the panel and shutting down the panel. Although, it is rare for them to shut down a panel, they will only do it if an account goes to bad debt, and ADT lost money.

Thanks guys,
I cruised thru my contract and saw many reasons why they would terminate the monitoring contract, but owner modifications was NOT one of them unless I missed it.
I supposed if they locked me out, via *98 or changing the installer code, the power off, power on and # * would always work, no?
I would really like at a minimum to somehow let my homeseer software know when then alarm has been tripped, ultimately I'd like them to talk to each other. No luck in finding any homeseer plugin for Ademco, and nothing from the Ademco (ADT) side either.
