Hi,

I have a Frigidaire Dishwasher model #PLD2855RFC that we've had for about 3 years. This morning I went to start the dishwasher, and somehow the circuit was tripped. After resetting the circuit breaker, the lights on the panel came on as normal. However, when we close the door the the dishwasher, it automatically starts up even though a setting is not selected. I've tryed pressing CANCEL, but that does nothing, the machine still makes a noise and water heats up as normal. I've tried letting it run through a cycle for a few minutes, but the setting will disappear and the machine will still run, and it makes a burning smell.

Any help that you can provide would be appreciated.

Thanks.

In the good old days before solid state circuit boards that run these digital controlled appliances today, I'd say it has to be welded timer points, keeping circuit active, causing your problem. But with these boards, it's maybe the board. Others may weigh in. Wouldn't want you to buy some wrong part.

Not real sure but sounds like your user interface is going bad, Buttons can stick and do strange things.
