Closet likely has latex paint finish. Latex paint is porous and absorbent. Successful removal of oil stain is not likely. Rubbing alcohol will removal latex paint. Stains on latex paint will require washing with TSP (trisodium phosphate) and sealing and primer with oil-based primer before repainting.
Depending on finish of chair, such as paint or lacquer, perhaps hot soapy water will be sufficient for removing oil. Do not use rubbing alcohol on guitar if it has lacquer finish. Check cleaner in inconspicuous place first before proceeding. Perhaps hot soapy water will be sufficient for removal oil.
