Hi All,
Tha shower pan in my house has always rocked a little when you are in it. This causes the bead of calking to rip loose frequently. I finally decided to fix it this weekend and here is where I am: I have cut out several rows of tile to lift the pan (36x36) up about 10 inches to see underneath. My level says there are some small dips and highs. Of course, high in the middle too. I have heard that you need to set these plastic pans on a mortar bed. How exactly does that go? Spread out a layer of mortar them set the pan on it and press down? Don't press down? Seems like you only get one shot at it. Also, I need to replace the bottom three rows of tile and sheet rock, is it better to use concrete board than green rock?
Thanks,
Nathan
PS....Gotta get this done before wife comes home on Monday and sees shower torn out!

I would make up a small batch of mortar premix and place under shower pan. put a little higher than you have space between the floor and the base. Then set pan onto mortar and carefully squish it down to where the pan is supposed to be sitting. Let it set for a couple hours before walking inside the shower. I would use cement board on the walls, but I am not a carpenter or tile guy.

I have been installing tile for 22 years ...not trying to burst your bubble but having the bathroom done by monday is impossible!!! Once the seal has been broken on the pan your out of luck you have to start all over !!!!
