D.I.Y. States to use Vinylacrylic sizing on walls prior to wall papering. However, I am unable to find it in Modesto, Ca. I am currently replacing some old wall paper and it appears that it was what used. Where can I purchase it?

i think you can skip the sizing. it's my understanding that sizing is for brand new drywall that hasn't been painted yet. if you're replacing wallpaper, you'll be fine just removing the old & using a wallpaper primer. then hang the new paper.

ANNETTE,
THANK YOU FOR THE INFO. DO YOU THINK IT WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE IF I DO NOT USE IT ON THE SPOTES THAT PEELED OF? THAT WAS THE REASON I WANTED TO USE IT.
IF NOT I WILL JUST USE THE WALL PAPER PRIMER THAT I BOUGHT.
THANK YOU AGAIN.
DON

i think you'll be fine just using the wallpaper primer. it creates a surface on your wall that makes sliding the paper around to position it easier, as well as easy removal of the paper years later.

just make sure your wall is nice & smooth - sand down edges & bumps & skim coat any dips. then prime & hang.
