We have a Kitchenaid dishwasher with the hidden switches, it does a good enough job, it's about 5 yrs old. Model is KUDIO1FLBL3
The door creaks really loudly when opening.
I managed to get it slid out from under the counter, so far this is what I know:
It has a cord pulling on a spring as a counterbalance. There is a "fixed" pulley the cord winds around one half, then down to a spinning pulley, both this "fixed" pulley and spinning pulley are on one bracket. So it makes like a figure "S", then back to the spring. With the spring disconnected there is no noise. I put some axle grease on the "fixed" pulley and is alot better now. But not totally quiet like when it was new. It started doing this a year ago and was really bad until I greased the groove in the fixed pulley. I am wondering if, to get it quiet again, I need that bracket with the fixed pulley, or a new cord, or what the heck this needs to work quietly.

Just gave it some thought, I took the cords off and have sprayed them heavily with a graphite lube. Will let it soak in and dry and will post results.

Yeah, that's better yet. I also rubbed off the bearing grease and used silicone grease (dielectric grease, same stuff)
