The timer on my 1994 Kenmore gas dryer will not advance in either auto dry or timed dry mode. In either mode, it stays at the position it was in when the dryer was started. (I have not checked whether it advances in air dry mode but presume that it will not) Otherwise works and dries fine. I want to confirm this is a failed timer before plunking down the substantial dough for a replacement.

You need a timer, You can check to see if you are getting voltage to timer motor but I bet you are.

I will check for voltage at the timer. Curiously, my wife called and said it's working again (at least in timed dry mode).
