The temperature varies widely where I live.
How big or powerful an airconditioner would I need that would be able to keep my room at up to 68 when the outside is 32 degrees?

You would have to do a heat load on the home to know!

Just one room? Why just one room? Is this going to be supplemental to any other exsiting heat or air conditioning? It might help if you descibed this dwelling as god as you can, and what is above and what is below this room, and what kind of sun exposure (or lack of it) this room has and what you know of the construction.
And it is an air conditioner you are looking for? Or are you trying to find something that puts out both heat and cold? It is the temps you give in your post that confuse me, regarding A/C.

I think you need a heater, not A/C.
