I am a novice and need tips to avoid traps and pitfalls of new laminate flooring installation. I have a 11' x 11' dining room that wraps around a counter into a kitchen and pantry with its own door. I also have a half bath 3' x 5' that is a separate room with a door. I have some basic tools.

What type of subfloor do we have? Concrete or wood?

Wood subfloor but I am laying it over the vinyl that is already down. There appears to be no real major valleys and I put down some adhesive where in spots it had rolled up.
