The trim switch on the throttle/shifter lever of my Wellcraft Nova works in the down position but will not lift the outdrive. I have to use the trailer switch for this. Is this most likely the switch itself and can it be cleaned/repaired or do I need a new switch? Is this switch easy to change out?

Thanks

Mercruiser? There is a trim limit switch on the port side of the gimbal of the drive that prevents it from going all the way up to trailer position. A lot of times the seal will fail and grease will get into the mechanism, preventing it from passing voltage.

No sense writing a how-to here. I found this (http://www.sterndrives.com/supplies/mdtips06.html) in a quick search.
