My concord 4 is almost complete. We are just using the chime system so we know if our small children open a door. However, we also have a three car garage, 2 car on one side of the house and a 1 car on the other side. The 1 car can be seen from a window, but I've hit the wrong opener many times and find a few hours later that the garage door 3 is open.
Is there a garage door sensor that will work for the Concord 4? Would it be wireless, that would be my preference since I don't have easy access to the attic area by that 3rd car garage.
Where could I find this component and how difficult is it to hook up? Could the chime system be set to continuously chime when the door is open so that we know it's open?
Thanks for the help.
John

Pretty easy to do...you will use a hardwired overhead door contact (floor mounted or track mounted), wired to a GE wireless contact.

Thanks KCXJ, where would I find those items at? Radio Shack?

Any security hardware vendor will have the contacts you want. Search for "overhead door contact".

If you contact Chamberlain (LiftMaster) you can order a 915LM wireless garage door monitor. They are very easy to install and you can place the monitor anywhere in your home close to an electrical outlet.

There is a new wireless garage door sensor available for the Concord (whole GE line...). Part number is TX-8010-01-1.
Once the garage door opens to a 35 degree angle, the sensor trips. No magnet needed. Mounts on the top panel of the garage door.
PM me if you want the manual...
